Shiva Temple & Natural 70°C Hot Water Kunds – Tuwa



Hot Water Spring Kund and Ancient Shiva Temple Located at Tuwa Village of Panchmahal District in Gujarat. Tuwa is Known for Hot Water Spring Kund and Footprints of Bheema Tuwa attracts around 100 tourists every day and 500 tourists in Month of Shravan as it is the only place in Central Gujarat with a hot water spring but there is No Proper History available of Ancient Shiva Temple. Village People believed that Hot Water Spring Kund has Existed from the Time of Mahabharat and Ramayan and was Visited by Lord Ram. It is Said that Sarbhang Rishi Suffering from a Skin Disease Because of one Shraap(Curse) and  It is believed that Lord Ram shot an arrow and pierced the land in Tuwa to allow the hot water to spring up to cure Sarbhang Rishi.



The temperature of the hot water spring is usually between 54°C to 65°C in one image in kund you can see hot water bubble and the water is alkaline in nature with high salt and mineral content.

The Shiva temple is in good condition now but does not look ancient; the locals have made it out of concrete and cement and other Ancient Small Structures are in Ruins and You Will find Remnants at the Temple area are Scattered. These are state protected monuments.



As I Noticed locals created a small shrine and putted idol inside and they write Dashama temple because there are thousands of peoples in this area who believe in Dashama but as my point of view this idol is not of Dashama this is of Sheetala Mata because you can see in the idol Vahana is looks like Donkey(Jvarasura) and Broom in one Hand and Sheetala Mata is Known for curing poxes, sores, ghouls, pustules and and most linked with skin disease, I am saying this because the story of Hot Water Spring Kund is Connected to curing a Skin Disease of Sarbhang Rishi by Bhagwan Ram and Sheetala Mata is also a Goddess of Skin Disease.

and In one Picture you can see a Nandi and Shivalinga, Nandi is worn out and original as ancient but Shivalinga is not original someone putted normal stone to attract devotees.

I find one carved idol of Lord Shiva and Shiva Parvati




 and other carved stones are of Bhagwan Ganesh, Hanumanji and two Hero Stone
